Personanteckningar
Born in Skane, Sweden, to Anders Trulson and Hanna Martenson. Nels left in 1877, at age 18 and travelled to Minnesota, working at whatever was at hand. Hearing of a railroad being built across Canada, he went north and got work in its construction, and was in Regina at the time of the execution of Louis Riel in 1885. He often remarked he should have stayed there. But he returned to Minnesota and later married Miss Tilda M. Sederberg, whose parents had emigrated from Sweden when she was 7 years old.
Nels went into the mines, first in the iron mines of Ironwood, Michigan, and Ely, Minnesota, then in the gold mines at Lead, South Dakota, in the Black Hills.
After several years, he started farming at North Branch, Minnesota, in a nice location a few miles from Mrs. Anderson's former home, and where the family grew up. In time, they had a good home, but there was much hard work.
Hearing from neighbours of good farming on new land in this part of Saskatchewan, Mr. Anderson went to investigate and this led to the purchase in 1911 of a half section from the Gilman Brothers, from Duluth Minnesota.
Selling in Minnesota, he came out in 1911 to start the work, and the family followed in 1912. They brought settler's effects and began to make a new home on the prairies.
